Friday - Benefit Dinner and Great Food

You may remember:
A few months ago I made a list of my favorite restaurants for some friends of mine that are temporarily living in Indianapolis.

To update you, my friend Jen received a new kidney in October but is still waiting for a new pancreas.

Because the staff at the Indiana University Medical Center are the best for organ transplants, Jen has remained in Indy.  There are many 'non-healthcare' costs associated with living away from home for months at a time.  Fortunately, the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF) has set up a fund to help Jen with these costs.

I am hosting a fundraiser for this fund to help Jen while she is a visitor in our great city.  It will be held at Chef JJ's Backyard and is only $65/person this friday, January 14th at 6:30pm.

This event is open to anyone.

MENU:

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Dates
Dates stuffed with parmesan cheese, wrapped with Goose the Market bacon and grilled until crisp and chewy, accompanied by our rosemary tomato sauce

Cauliflower Soup with Broccoli
A warm wintery blend of sharp cheddar cheese, cauliflower and broccoli, cooked in the Big Green Egg, with just a hint of wood chips

Herbed Chicken and Mushroom Gnocchi
Nicole and Taylor’s hand made gnocchi, accompanied by Indiana raised chicken, mushrooms, and our black truffle and parmesan cream sauce

Braised Pork Belly
Indiana pork belly, seasoned with soy sauce, ginger and garlic, slow smoked in the Big Green Egg

Winter Root Puree
A warm combination of squash, parsnips, carrots and potatoes, slow roasted in the EGG, and finished with cream and fresh garlic

Chocolate Bread Pudding
Fresh bread from Breadsmith, soaked in cream, cocoa, vanilla and coffee liquor, baked in the Big Green Egg and finished with fresh whipped cream
