Man v Food: Indianapolis Episode - August 18 - Travel Channel

If you remember, way back in July 0f 2009 I put up a blog post claiming that the Food Network and the Travel Channel never showed Indy any love.

Skip forward to May 2010 and there was this rumor that Adam Richman from Man v Food was in town. It was hard to figure out if this was just a rumor as no one could confirm or deny that he was around. Also, according to Adam Richman's Twitter account, he posted able to make it to town.

He then later followed up and said that he was actually in town. He must have just been afraid that the Indy crowd would demand more!

......Anyway.....

Last night I get an email, from someone who works with the travel channel updating me that the Indianapolis show is to air.

Don't you just love Blogger outreach. ;-)

Here is what the message wanted you all to know:
Below is additional information about the show and Wednesday's episode. I hope you enjoy Adam’s lap around Indy!

About the Show
Adam Richman, a food fanatic with a serious appetite, travels around the country taking on the most legendary food challenges. Adam has held every job in the food business and is now on a journey to explore the best eats our country has to offer. Whether it's a fourteen pound mountain pie, or an eight-patty burger, Adam is ready for the challenge.

Indianapolis Episode - Wednesday August 18th at 9:00 E/P
During his visit to the home of the Indy 500, Adam is ready to race for taste. In the “Circle City”, Adam first stops at Edwards Drive-In, home of Indy’s Holy Trinity: a homemade root beer, basket of crispy onion rings, and a pork tenderloin sandwich. Every day 500 Holy Trinities fly out the door, but none will compare to the surprise that awaits Adam. Next, at Gray Brothers Catering, Adam gets a taste of authentic home style, Hoosier hospitality. Adam assists the kitchen in making one beautiful strawberry pie, and homemade meatloaf from scratch. At the restaurant that has the ability to create “home on a plate”, will Adam get his loaf on?

To prepare for his final pit stop, Adam joins IndyCar series driver Tony Kanaan, for some tips on how to achieve victory in The Big Ugly Burger Challenge. After learning how to win the race, Adam takes to Bub's Burgers and Ice Cream where he finds out that a single Ugly Burger is a one and a half pound hamburger that is smothered in the equivalent of one stick of butter and enormous Hoosier flavor. Adam hopes he can finish the four burgers that make up the six pound challenge. Over 42,000 people have attempted this challenge, and none have succeed; but will Adam take a victory lap, and receive a glorified life-size cut out on the wall?
