Dig-IN Indianapolis - A sampling of Indiana

Taste of Downtown
One of my favorite events each year is, The Taste of Downtown, organized by Easley Winery in downtown Indianapolis(held early August).  However, my big gripe about this event is the name.  The event is more about wine and music than it is about food(not that there is anything wrong with that).  I just think the name, Taste of Downtown, makes people feel they are going to get a sampling of the food Indianapolis has to offer.   This particular event does a very poor job of highlighting Indianapolis Food....especially when most of the food vendors don't have a presence downtown....let alone anywhere in the city.

Dig IN ~ A Taste of Indiana
This Sunday(Aug 29), however, is likely to be entirely different.  This event looks like The list of Chefs reads like a who's who of delicious Indy dining, including some of this blog's personal favorites, Chef JJ's Backyard, Recess, Neal Brown and more.  The event is described to feature educational discussion panels, cooking demonstrations, urban gardening exhibits, local chef Q&A sessions, wine tastings, beer and food pairing classes, and more.  The are bringing local ingredients together with local chefs to create what truly will be a Taste of Indiana.
